Description

Hummus is a great protein-rich snack. In this version, chickpeas are blended with tahini, garlic, and lemon juice for a dip that offers a ton of flavor. Enjoy this hummus with sliced fresh vegetables and crackers as a healthy snack. You can also try it as a spread on a sandwich or add a dallop to a salad for an extra boost of protein and flavor.

Ingredients

  • 800 grams chickpeas
  • 2 lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic (chopped)
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons tahini
  • salt
  • sumac (optional)

Directions

  1. Drain and rinse the chickpeas. In a blender, mix them finely with the lemon juice, garlic cloves, olive oil, tahini, salt and a pinch of sumac. If the dough is a little thick, add a little water to make it less thick. If you want a smoother consistency, strain to remove the skin from chickpeas. Keep in a cool place for at least one hour before serving. Serve with pita bread or Lebanese bread.
