Description

Sweetened with honey, each bite of cake features the light flavor of orange and a subtle hint of hazelnut. Sprinkled with powdered sugar, this cake is elegant, zesty, and just the right amount of nutty.

Ingredients

  • 140 grams margarine (softened)
  • 140 grams sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 200 grams flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 80 grams hazelnuts (coarsely chopped)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 orange juice (and zest)
  • powdered sugar (for covering, optional)

Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. 2Grease a bundt cake mold with margarine and flour. Set aside.
  3. 3In the electric mixer bowl, beat the sugar with the butter until you obtain a whitish cream.
  4. 4Add the orange zest and juice, eggs, and honey. Beat once again.
  5. 5Finally, add the flour with the baking powder, and mix until getting a completely homogeneous dough.
  6. 6Add the hazelnuts to the dough, and mix with a spoon to evenly distribute.
  7. 7Pour the mixture in the cake mold, and bake for about 40 minutes.
  8. 8Check the cooking with a toothpick, remove from oven, and let cool.
  9. 9When cool, sprinkle the cake with powdered sugar.
