Honey Puffed Wheat, Cinnamon, and Chocolate Chip Cake

This easy to make recipe uses three different flours to create its denser consistency that will accentuate the flavors of honey, cinnamon, and chocolate. This low sodium dessert packs its fair share of protein and can be enjoyed with a cold glass or milk or a warm cup of coffee or tea. Best of all, this recipe requires but 20 minutes of prep time and then you can let the oven do the rest of the work for you in roughly 40 minutes.
Ingredients
- 80 grams butter
- 100 grams sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 100 grams rice flour
- 150 grams cake flour
- 4 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 100 grams wheat (puffed)
- 50 grams chocolate chips
Directions
- 1Preheat oven to 170 degrees Celsius.
- 2In a bowl, add the butter and sugar, and stir until until creamy.
- 3Add eggs and cinnamon, and mix.
- 4Add the flours, alternating with the milk.
- 5Add the honey, puffed wheat, and chocolate chips.
- 6Line a rectangular baking pan with parchment paper, grease with butter, and pour in the batter.
- 7Bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
- 8Remove from oven, and let cool.
- 9Cut into small slices.
