Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • flour (More, for the rolling process)

Directions

  1. 1In a food processor , pulse the flour with the salt, garlic and oregano, the add the oil and pulse again.
  2. 2Add in warm water slowly while it’s still in the food processor until the dough can be gathered into a ball.
  3. 3Turn the dough onto a floured counter and knead for about two minutes.
  4. 4Leave the ball to rest for 10 minutes.
  5. 5Shape into 8 pieces and roll into balls. Flour the counter again and place a dough ball on it.
  6. 6Start flattening the ball Using the rolling pin .
  7. 7Roll and turn and flour the tortilla if it’s still sticking to the rolling pin.
  8. 8Continue to roll and turn, roll and turn, until you have rolled out a thin tortilla
  9. 9Cook each tortilla on a ungreased skillet over medium-high heat for about 1 minute (30 seconds on each side) until puffy.
  10. 10Place cooked tortillas in a clean kitchen towel and wrap
  11. 11Use immediately, or freeze in a plastic bag
