Description

While the tomatoes are cooked low and slow, they bring out the color in this dish. The onions and garlic add the much flavor to the dish and accompany the vinegar. For spice add the cayenne pepper with the other ingredients to make a nice paste. After the elements are pureed in a food processor you are ready to serve.

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 kilogram tomatoes
  • 50 milliliters vinegar
  • 50 grams honey
  • 1/2 cayenne pepper
  • ground cinnamon
  • sweet paprika
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 teaspoon mustard

    Directions

    1. Add the oil to a skillet on medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and saute for 5 minutes.
    2. Add the tomatoes and simmer on low heat 15 minutes.
    3. Add the vinegar, honey, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, paprika, cloves, and mustard. Simmer for 30 to 35 minutes.
