Description

These rolls have a soft yeasty taste, and are a great snack. The chocolate chips are very sweet and compliment the vanilla extract. This is a fun snack that can be put into a lunchbox to enjoy everywhere.

Ingredients

  • 110 grams milk
  • 12 grams yeast
  • 30 grams olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 250 grams bread flour
  • 40 grams sugar
  • salt
  • 75 grams chocolate chips
  • 1 egg yolks

Directions

  1. In a stand mixing bowl, dissolve the fresh yeast in the warm milk. Add the oil, egg yolk, vanilla, flour, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Combine the ingredients using the hook attachment of the mixer.
  2. Lightly oil a bowl and place the dough inside. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and allow it to rest for 2 hours.
  3. Place the chocolate chips in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  4. Once the dough is double its size, take the chocolate chips out of the freezer and carefully mix with the dough, kneading a bit to make sure they are properly mixed in.
  5. Form ball-shaped pieces of 80 to 90 grams each.
  6. Place the pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, letting the dough rest once again for 2 hours to double its size.
  7. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  8. Coat the dough with the egg yolk and place the baking sheet in the oven. Bake for about 20 minutes.
