Everyone loves a good snack. This Homemade Chocolate Spread recipe is perfect if you want something sweet to liven up your afternoon snack. It takes 35 minutes to prepare this decadent treat. This sensational spread combines tart lemon with whipping cream and decadent milk chocolate. Have this with your favorite bread, roll, muffin, or scone. Enjoy it with a coffee or a tall glass of milk. The kids will jump for joy.
Ingredients
- 1 lemon (organic)
- whipping cream (10 cl.)
- soy milk (15 cl.)
- 200 grams sugar
- 200 grams milk chocolate
- 40 grams butter
Directions
- 1Get the lemon zest with a vegetable peeler.
- 2In a medium saucepan, boil the cream.
- 3Add the soy milk and bring to a boil again.
- 4Remove from heat and add the zest to infuse the milk.
- 5In another saucepan over high heat, add 20 grams of sugar and stir to melt, then add 10 grams sugar and melt.
- 6Repeat this process until sugar is completely used.
- 7Let caramelize the sugar until it has anl amber color.
- 8Remove from heat, add the chocolate and butter (beware of splashing).
- 9Cook over medium heat until smooth.
- 10Remove the lemon zest and gradually add the cream/milk mixture in the caramel/chocolate mixture.
- 11Transfer the chocolate spread into a jar.
- 12Keep in a cool place for a week.
