Description

Declare yourself a chocolatier with these homemade chocolate bonbons. Made a combination of milk and unsweetened chocolate and sweetened with port wine, these bonbons are rich and luxurious. This recipe suggests the addition of sliced almonds and dried apricot, but you can choose your favorite additions or personalize the bonbons for a unique homemade gift.

Ingredients

  • 80 grams unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 1 tablespoon port wine
  • 80 grams milk chocolate (with almonds)
  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds
  • 3 dried apricot (chopped)

Directions

  1. 1Place a piece of parchment paper, or a nonstick mat, on a work surface.
  2. 2Melt the chocolates, margarine, and Port wine over medium heat in a water bath. Mix well.
  3. 3Add the almonds and apricots, mixing quickly, but evenly.
  4. 4Remove from heat, and using two teaspoons, scoop out mixture to form small chocolate bonbons on the prepared surface.
  5. 5This whole process should be done as soon as the chocolate cools down, because if not, you won't be able to shape the candies.
