  • 2 garlic cloves (small, minced)
  • 1 teaspoon anchovy paste (found near the canned tuna in the supermarket)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed, from one lemon)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (I like the brand Maille)
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup mayonnaise (best quality such as Hellmann's Real)
  • 1/2 cup Parmigiano Reggiano (freshly grated)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 heads romaine lettuce (washed and torn into bite-sized pieces, optional)

    It was delicious, I didn’t have anchovy paste so I mashed up two anchovies. In retrospect I probably wouldn’t have put in the extra salt because of the anchovies, but it was still really good

    Great! I used real anchovies just because. I love egg yolk but having guest over I decided to just use the mayonnaise. It still was amazing

    delicious. easiest ceasar recipe I've found. it was very thick so had to thin with a but of milk. even so, this recioe is a keeper!

    creamy, needed a little extra anchovy paste to give it a little more 'oomph' but otherwise nice alternative to a raw egg recipe. Keeps well in refrigerator for at least a week.

    Good didn't have anchovies so I added a bit more of the worchestshire sauce and bit more salt

    I love to make almost everything from scratch, including the bread for the croutons in this recipe. This is the best recipe. Absolutely delicious. I have received rave reviews when I use it for company, but I also make it for the family. Never liked buying salad dressing because of all the preservatives and waste. We end up using a little and then the rest goes bad. This way I make just enough for a few times. Thanks for an outstanding cedar dressing that doesn't use raw egg!

    My partner and I are "from scratch" people as we do not like preservatives. This dressing is absolutely outstanding. Oh....and it will last in the fridge all the way to the Best Buy date on the anchovy paste and the mayo, unlike the comment below.
