I have now made this two times, once with the cardamom and once without. I think it's 4 stars with cardamom and 5 stars without. The cardamom is just a "not for everyone or every occasion" flavor to me. I think it needs something with it - like ice cream, tea, or maybe a nut butter. It tastes grown up. For kids and everyone who just wants a basic snack, I think the flavor without cardamom is easy and expected. For me, it takes 20 minutes in the oven to get a clean toothpick. The final result is a little mushy for my taste, but they somehow grow on me. One way of counteracting the mushiness is to generously sprinkle oatmeal on top....it just adds some texture. These are healthier than so many other options out there. I'm trying to find toddler-friendly foods, and these don't have pure sugar in them. Win!
