Description

The ultimate Easter bake made healthy. These Healthy Hot Cross Buns are enriched with buttermilk and naturally sweetened with fruit and agave syrup – delicious !

Ingredients

  • zest
  • 75 grams sultana
  • 25 grams mixed peel (optional)
  • 325 milliliters buttermilk (or half yoghurt and half milk)
  • 1 dessert apple (grated)
  • 6 tablespoons agave nectar (can substitute with honey or maple syrup)
  • 350 grams plain flour (strong white)
  • 150 grams whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon dry yeast (fast action/, I used Doves Farm-check name yeast)
  • 1/4 teaspoon soda (bicarbonate)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
