Pineapple is such a fun ingredient to use! Especially on a sandwich like this. You can make an old boring ham and cheese sandwich taste incredible just by adding a slice of pineapple. Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 4 slices bread
  • 1/4 pineapple (cut into thin slices)
  • 2 slices ham (or turkey)
  • 4 slices cheese (any kind you like)
  • 6 leaves basil

Directions

  1. Heat up a large frying pan on the stove for 5 minutes (at low-medium heat).
  2. Place the pineapple slices, ham/turkey, basil, and cheese over each slice of bread and then cover them with the other remaining slices.
  3. Place the teaspoon of butter into the pan and let it melt. Once the butter melts, place the sandwiches into the frying pan and grill the sandwich for approx. 3 minutes on each side.
  4. Once the cheese has melted, serve.

Delicious grilled sandwich! Every time I make these I smear some chipotle mayonnaise on the inside of the bread and use Swiss cheese. Also, I grill my pineapple on a stovetop grill pan prior to adding it to my sandwich.
