This was really good. Used cubed ham I had in the freezer instead of the steak. And a couple of green onions instead of the leek. The red pepper flakes were a good extra spice and lemon juice is a key ingredient so don’t leave it out!

Delicious! Left it in the oven on warm so it was ready to serve a bowl over several hours. Good flavour and consistency. I sometimes blend some of the soup for a creamier texture but didn't feel the need with this recipe

Love love love this soup. Always turns out great. I don't shred the meat from the hock, I find it too stringy. Also, I tend to throw in a bit of cinnamon, I find it mellows the flavour.
