Walnuts and cheese are also mixed into the batter, for a bit of crunch and creaminess. You can serve this bread with a little bit of butter for a snack, with a light salad for lunch or dinner, or try it as a savory french toast for breakfast.

This is such a fun bread. It smells like a toasted ham sandwich while it's baking, but then you cut into it and have the melted bits of cheese and bright green bits of green beans. It's like a whole meal within one bread! Also, I really enjoyed the favor of the thyme in this. It's not an herb I usually use, so when I do I'm reminded how much I like it.
