  • 1 cup quick-cooking grits
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (less fat Neufchatel-type is fine)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives (you can also use dried)
  • 3 tablespoons fresh parsley (or 1 T. dried parsley)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups chopped ham
