Ingredients

  • 3 steaks (hake, boneless)
  • 1/2 onion (chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (chopped)
  • olive oil
  • 4 crab sticks (sliced)
  • spinach leaves
  • 4 potatoes (medium, sliced)
  • 3 eggs
  • 200 milliliters sauce (white, or Bechamel sauce)
  • breadcrumbs (to taste)

Directions

  1. Boil the hake lightly. Let cool, shred, and set aside.
  2. Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  3. In a pan, brown the onion and the garlic with a drizzle of olive oil.
  4. Once they are golden brown, add the spinach until it is soft, then the shredded hake, and the sliced crab sticks.
  5. Mix well, and set aside.
  6. Boil the potatoes in salted water, together with the eggs.

This 4 star hake gratin is one of the simplest and easiest recipes I have been introduced to. It replaces any other recipe I have. The hake is very moist and tender; having a ideal combination of seasonings.
