Sweet-and-hot flavors have become popular from entrees to desserts. Here honey joins incendiary habanero to season quickly grilled chopped. The habanero chile is extremely hot, with a bright citrus flavor, native to the Yucatan peninsula. Use the habanero chile sauce carefully, it’s explosive! Pair these chops with sweet corn and Creamy Cabbage Slaw.
- 4 boneless pork chops (3/4-inch thick)
- 12 ounces beer
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon chile sauce (habanero)
- 1 clove garlic (crushed)
- 1 bay leaf
- In large self-sealing bag combine beer, honey, chile sauce, garlic and bay leaf. Add chops, seal bag and refrigerate for 2 hours.
- Drain chops, discarding marinade. Grill chops over medium-hot fire 8-9 minutes, turning once, until internal temperature on a thermometer reads 145 degrees Fahrenheit, followed by a 3-minute rest time.
