I subbed cooked rice but it was a little more dry than I'd like. Next time I'd like to add corn to give it a sweetness.

This is a fairly easy go-to dinner idea. I used green onions in addition to the regular and added mushrooms and two beef bullion cubes. I also used cooked rice and cut the bake time down to 15 minutes before adding the cheese. I didn't have onion soup mix, so I kind of re-created it with spices.

It was really good and a hit with my kids.

Delicious! I make a casserole on Friday’s so I don’t have to hear how hungry everyone is all weekend. So I doubled the recipe. I didn’t feel like cutting up an onion. I used 2 cans French onion soup, 2 cans beef broth instead of water, 2 cups raw rice instead of minute rice, 2 cans cream of mushroom, one pack of onion soup mix, and I added mushrooms.

Good a little too much onion for my taste but will make again without as much. Husband enjoyed it as is.

My daughters favorite meal of all times hands down

I liked this one very easy to make.

A very easy an quick recipe, however I did use cream of chicken rather than mushroom and added bell peppers to be sautéed with the onions and ground beef.

Super easy. Pretty darn tasty. I doubled up the cheese, was a mistake. I’ll make again maybe. Cheers.

This recipe is convenient to cook while watching a football game with family. I add in mushrooms and green peppers. It was a hit.

easy, cheap meal. There was a tad bit too much onion taste for my liking, so you may want to just use the onion soup mix and a half an onion, not a whole

Was good and easy to make

Delicious! Can taste a lot of onion so if you don’t like onion, you might want to cut back on the onion a bit.

We liked it. Very easy to make. Definitely having it again!

Great dinner..The onion soup mix added great flavor. Next time I might add more cheese.

I created my own onion soup mix and browned the hamburger with frozen mirepoix mix (onion, bell pepper, and celery). After baking 1 hour, I topped the casserole 1 c shredded Colby over 2/3 of the dish and covered the remaining 1/3 with shredded vegan cheese. It’s yummy!

It was good. I don’t think I will add the cheese if I make it again, but will probably add can of diced tomatoes. I did add a frozen vegetable mix that I sautéed with the meat.

Great . I used a jar of mushrooms and mushroom gravy instead of cream of mushrooms.

I've made this a couple times now. Make sure you don't use brown rice, it will not cook all the way through.

it was very weird to me and my wife

It was great! I used Jasmine boil-in-bag rice, I added a can of corn, using the corn liquid to fulfill the 1-cup of water. I added garlic powder, omitted the fresh onion, as my family isn’t fond of onions. I cooked it at 400 for 50 minuets- lowered temps to 350 for the last ten minutes, topped it with cheddar cheese on half and Gorgonzola on other half and recovered before returning to oven for the melt...YUMMY!

Loved it. The wife now thinks I can cook. Lol. Easy to make, I added extra rice and water and a can of corn for color. Will make again.

Was easy to make but can’t see myself making it again

Have been making a version of this for decades - yes I’m that old... If you want “color” you can add vegetables to the mix and you have a whole new casserole (or hotdish as we say in Minnesota)!

It was great, and simple right to the point. Great for a full time mom and student.
