Ready to eat in 35 minutes, this Italian dish is a great appetizer. The paprika brings a spicy element along with a strong flavor. The golden brown color of the dough adds color to the dish and is offset with the green oregano.

Ingredients

  • 1 phyllo dough (sheet)
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • paprika
  • dried oregano
  • garlic powder

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius.
  2. Cut the phyllo dough sheet into halves.
  3. Cover with the beaten egg.
  4. Sprinkle one of the halves with paprika (use spicy paprika for a stronger flavor).
  5. Add oregano and garlic powder to the other half.
  6. Cut both halves into 1 to 2 centimeter wide strips.
  7. Twist the strips and place on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake at until golden brown, up to 15 to 20 minutes..

I have made many recipe throughout my lifetime, but this one has to be one of my favorites. It was so easy to make and it did not require an abundance of time or effort to make it. It was bursting with flavor that really made your mouth water. I cannot wait to make this again and would give it 5 stars.
