This recipe is so easy to make and is a brilliant centerpiece for a meal or buffet, I really like that the glaze can be made in advance then reheated later without any problem as it makes the day my guest arrive much easier if I can get things ready beforehand. This also makes a great sauce to have with chicken, turkey or pork. This makes a nice change to pineapple and I have also made an alternative using apricots instead which was very nice but I needed to add some extra sugar as they aren't quite as sweet, I have also mixed them both together when I had an abundance of apricots which was very nice. When I cook my ham I add my cloves and a little mixed spice and allow the ham to sit for an hour before placing in the oven to allow the taste to soak in a little.
