Description

Edamame are flavorful, hearty and packed with heathy nutrients. They are a great low-calorie snack any time of the day. These Glazed Edamame take 35 minutes to prepare and are a mere 45 calories per serving. If you need something that tastes great and is healthy, then this recipe is guaranteed to please the palate. Ingredients

US|METRIC
  • 0edamame
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 2 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
  • 0red pepper flakes
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons mirin (Japanese dressing)
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons molasses sugar
  • 1 teaspoon powdered ginger

Directions

  1. Mix the soy sauce, water, mirin, vinagre, sugar, and ginger.
  2. Put a large casserole on the stove and pour a sufficient amount of vegetable oil.
  3. Sauté the garlic and red chilli pepper flakes.
  4. Add the sauce and let it sit until it begins to boil.
  5. Place the edamame into the casserole and stir it around for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Once this is done, the edamame is ready to be served. Any sauce that is left over can also be used as a dipping sauce

Edamames are crunchy and have a little natural sweetness to them that works with this glaze. This dish could be served with tofu and vegetables. I will make it again because I am trying to eat more of this healthy vegetable. I am glad there was a recipe here for it, because I didn't know how to cook it.
