Description

When it’s time for dessert, go blue. The sweet, tangy tartness of blueberries, mixed with the richness of butter, the crunchiness of almonds, and the sweetness of sugar will have any dessert lover begging for seconds!

Ingredients

180 grams butter
60 grams flour
160 sugar (gramsconfectioner's)
90 grams ground almonds
4 large egg whites
3 tablespoons frozen blueberries
slivered almonds
confectioners sugar (for decoration)

Directions

1Preheat oven to 170 degrees Celsius (340 degrees Farenheit)
2In a small saucepan melt the butter over low heat until it has a slight smell of hazelnuts and takes a little amber color.
3Pass through a fine sieve, set it aside.
4In a small salad bowl, mix together the flour, sugar and almond powder.
5Whisk the egg whites with a fork, and add them to the flour mixture.
6Gradually add the melted butter, mix well.
7Pour half the mixture into a 20x20 cm square pan greased and lined with parchment paper.
8Sprinkle with frozen blueberries, and add the rest of the batter.
9Sprinkle with slivered almonds.
10Bake for about 30 minutes until lightly browned.
11Let it cool before cutting.
12Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.
