To make these super easy breadsticks, a flavorful blend of extra-virgin olive oil, fresh rosemary, minced garlic, and freshly ground black pepper is simply brushed over store-bought bread that's been cut into strips and toasted until crisped and browned on one side. Then the strips are returned to the oven until crisped on the other side, and brushed as before, before a final stint in the oven. Sprinkle with sea salt and serve with your cocktail of choice.

Ingredients

  • extra virgin olive oil
  • fresh rosemary
  • garlic clove
  • ground black pepper
  • bread
  • sea salt

Directions

  1. Combine the oil, rosemary, garlic, and black pepper in a bowl.
  2. Place the bread strips on a baking sheet lined with wax paper and bake under the broiler until toasted.
  3. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and brush the crusts, on the toasted side, with the oil mixture.
  4. Turn the crusts to the other side and return them to the oven to be toasted and brush that side as well.
  5. Return them to the oven until very crisp.
  6. Sprinkle with the sea salt and serve immediately.

I will admit that I am a Breadstick fanatic. These were excellent breadsticks, especially to go with a good plate of spaghetti. I loved the prominent garlic taste with the combination of Australian sea salt. The breadsticks were the perfect mixture of chewy and soft. I plan to make this 4 star recipe on our next spaghetti night.
