Garlic brings out the savory flavors in this easy asparagus side dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 1/4 pounds asparagus
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • black pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Crush and finely mince the garlic.
  4. Trim the rough ends from the asparagus and arrange the spears on the baking sheet.
  5. Drizzle the asparagus with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt, black pepper and minced garlic.
  6. Roast the asparagus for 10-12 minutes on middle rack of oven.
  7. Remove the asparagus from the oven when tender.
  8. Serve immediately.
