Garlic and Parmesan give this simple roasted side dish Italian flair.

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 1/4 pounds asparagus
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Crush and finely mince the garlic.
  4. Trim the rough ends from the asparagus spears and arrange the spears on the baking sheet.
  5. Drizzle the asparagus with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and minced garlic.
  6. Transfer the baking sheet to the middle rack of the preheated oven.
  7. Roast the asparagus for 10-12 minutes on middle rack of oven.
  8. Remove the asparagus from the oven when tender.
  9. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the spears. Serve immediately.

just like the picture, i used grated Parmesan instead of shredded

great I used some bacon grease and a little olive oil which added to the flavor
Easy and tasty! I added lemon just after the oven and before adding the parmesan.
