  • 1/2 pound stewing beef (boneless, such as chuck, cut into 1-inch, 2.5-cm pieces)
  • 1/2 pound pork shoulder (cut into 1-inch, 2.5-cm pieces)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil (or lard)
  • 1 onions (medium, peeled and chopped)
  • 1 cup dry red wine
