  • 4 pounds fryer chicken (cut into 8 pieces)
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
  • 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (Louisiana Original)
  • 1 box breading (Shore Lunch® Chicken, Mix Classic Fried Chicken Recipe)
  • 4 cups vegetable oil (for frying)

    Directions

    1. Place the buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, and hot sauce into a large resealable plastic bag.
    2. Add the chicken to the bag, seal and place directly into the refrigerator for at least 2 hours and up to 24 hours.
    3. Add the oil to a large stock pot and heat to 375 °F.
