Description

Brunch will be a hit with this easy french toast topped with apples, pomegranate, and greek yogurt. Apples are browned in butter and cinnamon for a delicious topping that pairs beautifully with the tartness of pomegranate seeds and greek yogurt. This french toast is made by dipping your bread of choice in a mixture of egg, milk, maple syrup and orange blossom water. Covered in sliced almonds before being cooked to perfection, each slice has a light crunch. Make sure you have maple syrup on hand for an added touch of sweetness and flavor.

Ingredients

2 apples
cinnamon
butter
2 eggs
2 cups milk
1/3 ounce maple syrup
1 tablespoon orange flower water
1/2 cup slivered almonds
6 slices bread (stale, or brioche)
1 pomegranate
greek yogurt

Directions

1Cut apples into slices, mix with a pinch cinnamon.
2Brown in butter until golden brown.
3In a bowl, whisk eggs, add milk and maple syrup. Mix.
4Add the orange blossom water.
5Dip the bread slices in the mix until completely saturated.
6Remove gently.
7Place the almond slivers on the bread.
8Cook the bread slices in a hot, buttered pan. Brown a few minutes.
9Place the toast on a plate, top with apples, and a spoonful of Greek yogurt. Scatter with pomegranate seeds.
10Pour on a generous amount of maple syrup.
