Starting out with a good stock make a lot of difference. I shredded a leftover chicken breast and added it at the end my daughter loved it. I will definitely make this again.

Flavorful and easy to make. Also very economical. More of a stew than a soup.

Delicious and easy classic lentil soup recipe. Even passes the toddler test!

Warming recipe, but nothing about the flavor makes it stand out. I was wondering what the taste would be like since there were no seasonings that went into the soup while cooking. At the end, I added a lot of salt, black pepper, and chili pepper. I also added one potato while it was simmering.

Wow, easy to make. Came out delish, good night for it very cold out. I put some in my blender then back into pot for a thickened soup. My husband even loved it. Will definetly make this again

Delicious! My family loved it. It is a new family favorite. Used only 2 T oil and split red lentils, so skipped the purée instruction.

This recipe turned out FABULOUS!! And the fact that my 3 and 1 year olds loved it, is a plus!! I made several adjustments based on our taste preferences. I used double the garlic and added fresh thyme as well as a bay leaf. Also, I added a few pinches of complete seasoning and cayenne for a little heat on the back end. I only used 1 cup of lentils (just what I had on hand) and didn't purée as much (maybe 2 1/2) cups because we prefer it chunkier. I did have to add several cups of water to get it to the consistency my kiddos will eat and adjust the salt accordingly, but again, that's based on preference. This is going into the dinner rotation without a doubt. It's just so simple and tasted so wonderful.

Was a little skeptical while reviewing the recipes ( b/c of the canned tomato), but it turned out wonderfully !!! Two thumbs up Child friendly too

We love lentil soup in our house and this recipe turned out great! I recommend using the balsamic for a nice added depth in the flavor. We love to add a little Parmesan to the bowl and dip a tasty slice of baguette in the soup. So good!

Very good soup, I will keep this in my rotation! I made it as directed but added a little more veg and stock to have more for leftovers.

Delicious! Used chicken broth, natural tomatoes and didn't use celery or balsamic vinegar. Doing it again definitely
