  • 1 1/2 cups carrots (sliced raw, ¼ inch thickness)
  • 1 cup potatoes (diced raw, peeled and cut into ½ inch cubes)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 10 ounces frozen peas
  • 16 ounces whole peeled tomatoes (well drained and quartered)
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 egg yolks

    Directions

    1. Brush pots with vegetable oil, line with aluminum foil, and fill with a savory mixture of chicken, herbs, and vegetables. Top with a flaky butter pastry and bake. Flowerpot pies are now ready to serve in their clay pot containers. Garnish with vegetable packet seed markers suggesting the luscious flavors within--carrots, peppers, tomatoes, and green peas.
