  • 3 tablespoons butter (softened)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 cup beef broth (plus 1/2 cup if needed)

    Directions

    1. Season beef liberally on all sides with salt and black pepper. Allow to stand at room temperature for 30 minutes before roasting.
    2. Preheat oven to 400°F.
    3. Set beef in center of roasting pan. Rub butter evenly over exposed surface of beef. Sprinkle with garlic powder, if desired. Pour beef broth into pan until 1/4 inch deep.
