If you want to make the best appetizer cheese plate, and want to make something different to go with it, but don’t know where to start, then why not try this Dry Fruit Sausage (to accompany your cheeses. There is no meat in this sausage, which makes it perfect for all of your vegetarian friends. This recipe uses fruits and nuts to make this savory and sweet “sausage” for a fun and flavorful treat.

Ingredients

50 grams almonds
250 grams dried fig
50 grams dried apricot
50 grams walnuts
1/2 tablespoon brandy
1 tablespoon honey

Directions

1Finely chop the almonds in a blender. Set aside.
2Mix the figs so that they form a thick, sticky paste and add them to the almonds.
3Mix and add the chopped walnuts, apricots cut into small pieces, cognac, and honey. Mix well to obtain a very consistent paste.
4Take some parchment paper, roll the dough into a sausage and wrap it in the paper. The paper allow the sausage to dry.
5Store in a cool place.
6Cut slices to serve.
