Description

Made with mild ancho chiles, ripe tomatillos, and your favorite lager, this Drunken Sauce makes flavorful go to sauce to serve with fish, seafood, chicken, or as a dipping sauce for a tasty appetizer. If you want a stronger flavor, you can add diced onion and freshly chopped coriander to the sauce. Experiment with different lagers to find your favorite version of this Drunken Sauce. Store in a glass jar and keep in the refrigerator.

Ingredients

2 ancho chile pepper (seeded and deveined)
5 tomatillos
1 clove garlic
salt
250 milliliters lager beer
1 tablespoon coriander (chopped)
2 tablespoons onions (chopped)

Directions

1In a saucepan, add the chilies and tomatoes. Cook until the chilies have softened.
2In a blender, add the chilies, tomatoes, garlic, and salt. Puree until smooth.
3Pour the sauce into a glass jar.
4Add beer and stir.
5Add coriander and onion for a richer taste.
