Description

The perfectly paired saltiness of Feta cheese and the Savory juicy flavors of chard evoke images of the Greek Mediterranean Sea. A simple and stylish appetizer is all that is needed for any summertime meal. Save some time and use Puff-Pastry instead of making the dough. To infuse the pre-packaged dough, use a baking brush and apply a thin layer of salted butter prior to baking. Not only do the pinenuts add nuttiness, but they give additional texture to the dish.

Ingredients

  • 50 grams almonds
  • 250 grams dried fig
  • 50 grams dried apricot
  • 50 grams walnuts
  • 1/2 tablespoon brandy
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Directions

  1. 1In a blender, finely chop the almonds. Set aside.
  2. 2Also chop the figs in the blender so they form a thick and sticky paste.
  3. 3Add the almonds and mix.
  4. 4Add the chopped walnuts, apricots cut into small pieces, brandy, and honey. Mix well to obtain a very thick paste.
  5. 5Roll the dough into a sausage and wrap it in a piece of parchement paper. The paper will prevent it from drying out. Store in a cool place. It can be made 2 to 3 days in advance.
  6. 6To serve, cut into slices.
