Stuffed with ham, cheese, and spicy sausage, these savory fritters make a tanatlizing appetizer for a dinner party. This recipe was written with directions for an Actifry machine.

Ingredients

  • 150 grams flour
  • 100 grams ham
  • 50 grams spicy sausage
  • 50 grams cheese (Flemish)
  • 40 grams margarine
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 250 grams water
  • 2 sprigs parsley
  • salt (to taste)
  • oil (to taste)

Directions

  1. Start by putting the water in the cup along with the butter and a pinch of salt.
  2. Program 10 min., Temp. 100 degrees, vel. 3.
  3. Towards the end of this time, the water should start boiling (depends on water temperature and margarine).
  4. Add the flour and baking powder and set for 1 min., 100 temperature, speed 4.
  5. Remove the cup and allow it to cool.
  6. Without washing the glass, put the cheese, ham and large sausage all cut into small pieces.
  7. Also add the parsley, eggs and the pasta previously set aside.
  8. Schedule for 1 min., Speed 7.
  9. As my eggs were not very large, I felt the need to add one or two tablespoons of milk to the dough, for it to get less dense.
  10. Put oil to the heat. When hot, add small spoonfuls of dough and fry.
  11. Remove when they are golden and drain well on paper towels.
  12. Some I let fry for longer, which made them to stay 'hollow' inside.
  13. Served with white rice.

Really good fried dough with meat and cheese inside. The look reminded of us hush puppies, but tasted so much better thanks to the added ingredients. You can serve these as a dinner with rice, or stick a toothpick in each one and have a nice appetizer. I have used with spicy sausage and mild. We really enjoyed it either way.
