Have a donut maker you've been itching to use, one that's just been taking up space on your shelf? This simple recipe using pantry ingredients is waiting to be whipped up with little effort. Since the recipe is a blank canvas, you can sprinkle them with powdered sugar as the recipe suggests, or you can get creative with cinnamon sugar, frosting or glaze made with confectioner's sugar.

Ingredients

  • 260 grams flour
  • 130 grams sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 250 milliliters milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 5 tablespoons oil
  • salt
  • powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat the donut maker.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, vanilla extract, milk, eggs, oil, and a pinch of salt until the batter is uniform in consistency.
  3. Place a tablespoon of batter into each of the donut molds.
  4. Close the donut maker lid and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  5. Remove the donuts with a wooden spatula.
  6. Cool completely and sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.

After making this donut recipe, I will never resort to eating store bought donuts ever again. They were lush and had that true bakery style taste to them. These donuts were slightly heavier than other donuts and were incredibly soft. I will be whipping up these 5 star donuts from now on; instead of buying donuts from the store.
