This tasty Danish Crumble is full of sweet spiced fruit flavor making the perfect dessert for a crisp autumn evening. Combining diced gala apples, pears, and wild berries with agave syrup, the fruit mixture is then covered with sweet cinnamon spiced oat topping and baked until crisp and golden. Serve this Danish Crumble warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert or eat it cold with a yogurt for breakfast in the morning.

Ingredients

  • 1 gala apple (Royal)
  • 1 pear
  • 1 1/2 cups berries (wild)
  • 25 grams butter (and more for greasing)
  • 3 teaspoons agave syrup
  • 100 grams rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons apple syrup (may be substituted with honey or maple syrup)
  • 60 grams sliced almonds
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
  2. Dice the apple and pear.
  3. In a bowl, mix the apple, pear, and berries.
  4. Grease a small bowl with butter. Add the fruit and pour the agave syrup on top.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the oats, apple syrup, almonds, and cinnamon.
  6. Add this mixture to the fruit and distribute. Add the butter on top.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 to 40 minutes.
  8. Serve with yogurt, warm or cold.

I used organic blue agave syrup and all organic fruits. Squeeze lemon juice over the apples after dicing to prevent them from turning brown. I served with a tangy Greek yogurt. It tasted delicious and was healthy too.
