  • 1 pound meat (ground turkey, thigh, if you can get it)
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 garlic cloves (chopped)
  • 2 red chiles (chopped fresh, optional)
  • 1 inch ginger (piece of peeled, grated fine)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • salt (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala (or curry powder)
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 2 yukon gold potatoes (large, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks)
  • 4 plum tomatoes (Roma or other, diced)
  • 1 cup frozen peas (or fresh)
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro (loosely packed, or parsley)

Delicious. Added a little pepper for spice (black and cayenne) and cilantro while still cooking. Gives it a nice flavor. Would certainly make it again

I left out the coriander seeds(did not have some on hand) and forgot the cilantro at the end. Those would of probably made a light difference in the taste but it was still good. I also used some low sodium chicken broth I had on hand instead of the water since I wanted to leave out the added salt for seasoning. It was an easy recipe made easier if you cut your vegetables in advance: still took me about 30 minutes to cook everything and my potatoes were cut very small into cubes and I also added small pieces of carrots for more color. This is the order in wich I added the ingredients: onion, turkey, ginger+garlic, spices, potatoes+carrots, broth(leave for 2 minutes), frozen peas+ tomatoes. Will make it again.
