This curry dish is bursting with flavor. Onions, garlic, and bell pepper make a fragrant base for a mixture of shrimp and calamari. Curry powder, white wine, and cayenne pepper come together to create an irresistable and bold sauce that coats the vegetables and seafood. Serve the curry with a bit rice for a filling and delicious meal. Try it with a sprinkle of fresh parsley or cilantro over the top for a nice little bit of freshness.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 onions
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • salt
  • 2 calamari
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 100 milliliters white wine
  • water
  • 10 shrimp
  • 1/2 cayenne pepper

Directions

  1. Add the oil to a skillet on medium heat. Saute the onion, green bell pepper and garlic for about 5 minutes. Add a pinch of salt.
  2. Add the calamari and curry powder and saute for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the wine and allow the alcohol to evaporate, about 5 minutes.
  4. Cover with water and simmer for 30 to 35 minutes. With 5 minutes to go, add the shrimp and cayenne pepper. Serve with rice.
