Description

Puff pastry dough is used to make delicious, crave-worthy croissants with little effort on your part. Cut into triangles and topped with a slice of speck, they're rolled up and shaped into a crescent. Then, they're brushed with milk and poppy, sunflower or sesame seeds, or a mix of all three. You can substitute an egg for the milk, if you prefer. These savory pastries are great served warm or at room temperature.

Ingredients

  • 1 pastry dough (round sheet puff)
  • speck (thin slices)
  • seeds (Various types of, poppy, sunflower, sesame, etc.)
  • milk (or lightly beaten egg yolk, for brushing)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190C.
  2. Cut the puff pastry into 12 triangles.
  3. Place the speck in the center of each triangle and roll it up from the base towards the tip.
  4. Brush with the milk (or the egg yolk), sprinkle with the seeds
  5. Bake for approximately 15 minutes, until golden.
  6. Remove the croissants from the oven and serve warm.
