I love ham, potatoes, onions and green beans. I like a little more onion flavor that the recipe called for so I added some onion powder as well.

Love this recipe and so did everyone at the dinner we served at our church yesterday. I did make some additions and/or substitutions. 1. 5 12oz. drained, canned green beans. (Did not have fresh ones on hand.) 2. About 1/2 tsp. sugar or Splenda or less per 12 oz. can of green beans. 3. About 1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar per 12 oz. can of green beans. 4. 3 cups low sodium chicken broth instead of water. 5. 1 lb pkg of pre chopped ham. (low sodium) 3. Black Pepper to taste. Also from cooking this recipe before, I learned to place the potatoes into the bottom of the crock pot first when using canned green beans. The potatoes take longer to cook since they are raw. *****
