I cut part of the recipe in half - used about a pound of ground beef, one can of cream of mushroom with roasted garlic (instead of the golden mushroom soup), and one cup of broth. I sautéed the onions and mushrooms in a bit of olive oil and lightly browned the beef prior to throwing everything together. I also used a teaspoon of fresh minced garlic in place of the powdered. Cooked for four hours and added the sour cream & cream cheese per the recipe. Turned out creamy and delicious served over some organic Italian pasta & a slice of toasted sourdough.

my whole family loved it!! I now make it a couple times a month. it's easy to put together. there's not much clean up. now that it's just my husband and I most of the time we get several meals off of it. the meat is So tender. I Definitely Recommend it!!

Great recipe! Substituted one of the cans of golden mushrooms for cream of mushroom and it turned out great! I also used chicken broth instead of beef. Crazy, right?!
