Easy to do, simple ingredients but even with presoaking beans overnight, they were a bit firm for my taste even after 10 hours cooking. I think I'll do canned beans next time.

Great I let a bag a beans soak a good day and and a half. Add all as directed (didn't rinse the ham)but added about six dashes of Tabasco that really helped. Cooked it a long time until beans were very relaxed. Might need a touch more salt. Liked this recipe since it was simple and lower calories than others

Good base recipe. I throw in a can of beans instead of cooking them myself, and leave out the celery since I don't usually have any on hand. You can really adjust this recipe to accommodate whatever you have in your kitchen.
