- 5 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 eggs (lightly beaten)
- 3 tablespoons cornflour (cornstarch)
- 10 tablespoons flour (plain, all-purpose)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 3 chicken breast fillets (chopped into bite-size chunks)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional - you can leave out and just sprinkle with plenty of sesame seeds at the end if you prefer)
- 2 cloves garlic (peeled and minced)
- 1 tablespoon Chinese rice vinegar (white wine vinegar will work too)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce (use more or less depending on the brand and how spicy you like it)
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce
- rice (Boiled)
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1 bunch spring onions (scallions, chopped)

It was OK I didn’t have the sweet chili sauce and used regular chili sauce.. I feel this recipe needs something else in it. Maybe dry mustard? I would definitely make it again with the sweet chili sauce, and see how that turns out.

This was delicious and the kids loved it too. I had to use quite a lot more olive oil than the recipe said. I still shallow fried it, but I cooked it in a few batches and needed to add more as the batches progressed. I also stir fried some veggies in the pan afterwards and added them all together - carrots, broccoli, peppers.

My family really loved this dish. I however found it a little too sweet but looks delicious amazing in front of your eyes is tasty but I think next time I will make it less sweet by reducing honey and sugar.

For the number of ingredients, this was really easy to make. (Much easier to make with two people though.) I thought it did taste like takeout, but the sauce was a little too “rich” for me, so I had to add some extra rice and veggies to eat with each piece of chicken. I enjoyed it though!

It was truly enjoyable. The sauce with the chicken is a godly combination. And it was also very easy to make. I'm usually not that great of a cook but this really was a really nice dish. 10/10 would make again.

I made this with Tempura batter mix from tesco instead of flour and eggs for the chicken pieces and it usually gets very messy. Turned out crispy and so tasty. The sauce is very easy to make as well.
