I added some red pepper flakes and some garlic powder to this and it turned out great! It was a delicious bowl of soup.

Good soup to throw together last minute. Quick and easy. Made the perfect amount for 4people and no left overs. If you want left overs, you want to double the recipe.

It was delicious! I could have added more chicken but, I will the next time! I used white rice and added a mixture of the seasonings that my family would enjoy! I totally forgot the carrots!! LOL My children really enjoyed the meal!! They said it was soooooo goooood!!! Definitely a must for a cold winter night, as well!!

delish! I used a bit of oregano instead and brown glutinous rice. Then let it reduce to be super creamy.

My wife and I absolutely LOVE this soup. We changed up the recipe just a bit, for a more natural and evenly distributed taste. ~~~~ First, the chicken broth listed on the list of ingredients was replaced with spring water, spiced, used to boil the chicken. ~~~~ Second, I boiled a little less than a half cup of hard wheat rice, then chucked it in with the shredded chicken. ~~~~ Third, Instead of a whole onion, we use half an onion (sometimes less), because who wants that much onion in their soup, right? ~~~~ You'll need more spices than listed, so I recommend just throwing a bunch of salt, pepper, and thyme (obviously, you can use others if desired).~~~~ Carrots aren't listed on the ingredients, but we chopped one carrot and cooked with the celery and onion.

"Season to taste" took a lot at the end of the recipe. The 1/4 tsp of Thyme the recipe called for was not merely enough. On top of heavily seasoning the chicken, I added various seasonings such as basil, garlic salt and parsley. I also simmered the soup for about 20 mins.
