Description

Cream cheese is incorporated into ths eight-ingredient cracker dough, paving the way for tender, flaky crackers with a touch of tanginess. Parmesan and black pepper add savory flavor. You'll need a rolling pin and, ideally, a cookie cutter, though you can also cut the cackers into rectangles or squares using a knife if need be. Serve these as a cocktail party snack, along with glasses of bubbly.

Ingredients

200 grams cream cheese
200 grams all-purpose flour
60 grams butter (softened)
1 egg yolks
1 tablespoon parmesan cheese (grated)
ground black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
chives (chopped)

Directions

1Combine the cream cheese in a bowl with the egg yolk, butter, parmesan cheese, a pinch of ground pepper, salt, and a tablespoon of chopped chives.
2Add the flour to the mixture in the bowl and knead until the dough is of the same consistency as shortbread dough.
3Shape the dough into a ball, cover it in plastic wrap and refrigerate it for at least 1 hour.
4Preheat the oven to 180C.
5Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1/2 centimeter and use a cookie cutter to cut out the crackers.
6Place them on a wax paper-lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
7Remove from the oven and let cool.
