Cornmeal adds flavor and texture to all sorts of baked goods, including this Bundt cake, which calls for an equal amount of wheat flour as well. There's no butter to cream, meaning all the ingredients are simply mixed together at the same time to form a thick and fluffy batter that will rise significantly during baking, so make sure there's plenty of space in the pan when it goes into the oven.
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 cup oil
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups wheat flour
- 2 cups cornmeal
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 4 eggs
- Preheat oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
- Grease and flour a large, bundt cake pan.
- Mix all the ingredients at once, and stir well to get a fluffy cream. Bake for about 40 minutes. Please note that the cake grows quite large, so you should use a large pan.
