very good but next time I will use a harder bread . I used white bread that I left out overnight. and I added a few slices of banana .It was easy and quick to make. I rate it 8 out of 10 .

Excellent! Used Kroger’s “rustic pugliese” artisan bread (a couple days old). My daughter said it was better than any restaurant French toast.

Very important: DO NOT SOAK EACH SLICE FOR TEN SECONDS!! My best advice is to not "soak" it at all, otherwise you end up trying to fry a soggy glop of bread reverted to mush! I dropped the bread into mixture on one side, immediately flipped to other side, immediately placed into pan... this simple drop into the bowl of wet mixture was enough to allow the bread to absorb just enough, anything longer and it was as stated above. (Maybe our Texas Toast bread is very different? Here it is extremely fresh & soft.)

I added a small dash of salt (against my better judgement) to give the recipe a fair chance. I won't add salt if I use this recipe again. I believe I'll also add 1/2 tsp of cinnamon next time I try it, & a pinch of sugar.
...
Photo is (obviously) before syrup.

PS & FYI - to be fair, I am never satisfied with my own cooking, though everyone claims to LOVE it! LOL & Hubbs says "it was really good!"

Cooked it on low temp on each side for about 30 minutes total and it was perfect! I used standard white bread. Nothing fancy!

The French toast was good, flavorful, and definitely filling. The one problem I had with this dish was that the outside was very eggy, and it was to tell if there was a dilema with the ingredients or the bake time. Otherwise delicious!

Tasted perfect! I used 1” slices of French bread and made about 24 little French roasts. Topped with strawberries, whipped cream, and syrup it tasted just fine even though I forgot the salt.

this was my first time ever cooking and i was constantly messing up but in the end the recipe was easy enough to follow and make. I love the way it came out, i did make a mistake of adding way too much salt, i will fix that next time.

Good. Easy to make , i don’t think i would make it again. I would probably put less cinnamon and a bit sugar in it
