Here's a fun way to prepare cinnamon toast for a bunch of kids, say at a slumber-party breakfast or birthday party brunch. Rolling out the trimmed bread slices makes them thin enough to roll up into "twisties," while brushing both sides of the bread with melted butter helps the cinnamon-sugar mixture better adhere--and get wonderfully crunchy in the oven, aided by the heat of the broiler during the final minutes.

Ingredients

  • 12 slices bread
  • 70 grams salted butter
  • granulated sugar
  • cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Cut off the crusts of each slice of toast and use a rolling pin to make them very thin.
  3. Brush a generous amount of melted butter on both sides of each slice of bread and sprinkle with a generous amount of sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Fold the sides towards the center and roll up the slices carefully, then place them in buttered muffin pans.
  5. Sprinkle again with some more sugar and cinnamon and bake for approximately 15 minutes until golden brown. Turn the oven's broiler on and broil for a few minutes.

I made these to see if my family would like them as much as they do their cinnamon toast crunch. My kid were ecstatic when they first ate these because they taste just like the cereal they enjoy so much. Lots of sweet cinnamon covering the entire twist, I could definitely see myself making them again. A definite 5 star recipe
