Chocolate and Irish Cream Custard Tart

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen pie crust (9-inch, thawed)
  • 4 ounces milk chocolate (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons irish cream liqueur
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • unsweetened cocoa powder (to dust)
  • whipped cream (to serve, optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Prick the pie crust with a fork. Place on a baking pan. Bake 10 mins. Cool 10 mins.
  2. Reduce oven temperature to 325°F.
  3. Meanwhile, place chocolate, milk and liqueur in a small saucepan on low heat. Stir for 2-3 mins until smooth. Cool slightly.
  4. Whisk eggs, sugar and vanilla in a medium bowl. Gradually whisk in milk mixture. Pour into pie crust.
  5. Bake 25-30 mins until custard is just set. Cool to room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. Dust with cocoa and serve with whipped cream, if desired.
